If you are undergoing IVF treatment in the UK or abroad, your fertility clinic may request that you have an Endometrial Lining & Follicle Tracking Scan.

The endometrial lining & Follicle Tracking scan is performed to assess the appearance, measure the thickness of the endometrial lining & to count and measure the number and size of follicles on the ovaries.

This scan is usually performed trans-vaginally for best results. This scan can be performed trans-abdominally, although the measurements  will not be as accurate.

Your fertility clinic will advise you when you should have this scan.

You will receive the following;

• Scan to measure the thickness and assess the appearance of the endometrium
• Assessment to count and measure the number of follicles on the ovaries
• Report and supporting images sent via secure email to forward to your clinic (often, your clinic will supply you with a form to complete)
